- According to Vastu, the centre of the house, known as Brahmasthan, is considered the ideal location for a courtyard.
- Vastu recommends keeping the Brahmasthan free from walls, pillars, beams, etc for an unobstructed energy flow. Therefore, creating an open courtyard in this area is the best way to utilise this space.
- If it's not possible to have the courtyard in the centre, it can also be placed in the eastern or northeastern part, as these directions are considered favourable as well.
